Fundcap Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 19, 2026
Fundcap (“we”, “the app”) helps Shopify merchants run all-or-nothing crowdfunding campaigns on their own store. We designed it to collect as little data as possible.
What we store
- Your Shopify session token, so the app can talk to your store on your behalf. Stored securely; deleted when you uninstall.
- Your campaign settings and progress (which product, the goal, the deadline, how many units and how much revenue have been backed). Campaign progress is also mirrored to product metafields in your own store so the storefront widget can display it.
- A record of each backer order: the order ID, order number, units and order amount, plus whether it has been refunded. This is what makes accurate progress counting and the one-click bulk refund possible. It contains no customer names, emails, addresses, or payment details.
- If you contact support, we keep your message and the email address you provide so we can reply. That’s the only reason we use it.
What we do NOT store
- We do not store your customers’ names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, or payment information. When you export a backer CSV, the customer emails in it are fetched from Shopify at that moment and are not kept on our servers.
- We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising or analytics beyond what’s needed to run the app.
Refunds
When a campaign misses its goal and you run the bulk refund, refunds are created through Shopify’s own systems. We never see or touch payment details.
Data requests & deletion
We honor Shopify’s mandatory data-protection webhooks: on a customer data request we confirm we hold no customer data; on shop deletion or uninstall we remove all records associated with your shop. Questions: see our support page.
Changes
We’ll update this page and the “last updated” date if our practices change.
